Availability and use of the courts

A list of all home team matches, both adult and junior, will be displayed on the notice boards in both pavilions as well as being on the 'Season Events' page. Occasionally it may prove necessary to utilise periods that are shown as free matches where these need to be re-arranged. Conversely math allocated times may be used by members when not required for matches.

 

Visitors

Visitors are welcome and may play as guests of existing members for a maximum of three times a year, after which they must apply for a membership if they wish to continue using the club facilities. The visitor fee is £2 per session for adults and £1 for juniors. It is the responcibility of the club memeber to complete the appropriate vistors book held in each pavilion and to pass the visitor fee to a committee member. Visitors are not covered by any insurance if their names are not entered into the visitor's book and if they are not playing with a club member.

 

Court Lighting & Pavilion Heating

Court lighting is available for members to use operated by a switch system in the electrical cabinet in the pavilion. Floodlights should not be used unnecessarily but once switched off must not be put back on within 20 minutes. All floodlights must be switched off at 10.00pm. Please lock the pavilion on leaving.

Background heating in the pavilion is operated by a press button switch on the side of the electrical cabinet. This is a timed facility and will switch off automatically after 30 minutes. Please do not alter the dials on the heater unit and ensure that the pavilion door is kept closed.

 

Teams

Mens, ladies, mixed and junior teams are entered into local and county leagues throughout the year. Team practice takes place from the end of March and during April at Broadham, ladies on Wednesday and mens on Fridays. Availibility and commitment to matches is expected. Anyone interested in playing team tennis should contact the respective captians.

 

Wimbledon Tickets

Only those who are members of both PLTC and British Tennis can apply for Wimbledon Tickets. Applications can be made by registering on the notice board at Broadham by a date to be advised. Tickets will be allocated by ballot and are not transferable and must not be offered for sale. Tickets, which cannot be used, must be returned to Pat Andrew.in good time for re-issue to other members.  

 

British Tennis Membership

Brisish Tennis Membership is an individual membership scheme for those who play or have an interest in British Tennis and is free to all Club Members until 2012. Wimbledon Tickets are now allocated to the club on the basis of the number of members who have joined British Tennis. Application forms are availible from Broadham Pavilion or from the Secretary

 

Club Rules

A copy of the Club Rules is available in each pavilion or can be obtained from the Secretary

 

Dogs

No animals belonging to members or visitors are allowed on Club premisis.

 

Tennis Clubmark

Clubmark is the Kitemark for all sports clubs across the UK. Tennis Clubmark is the LTA's quality assurance programme for clubs and is endorsed by Sport England.
